Here is an interesting one.
This judge appeared on stage telling jokes, while off the job.
He’s being investigated by the Oklahoma Council on Judicial Ethics: (Story here).
Oklahoma’s rule 3.1 prohibits judges from using court premises for improper purposes. Apparently the angle for the investigation is that he shot some video while sitting in his judicial chambers.
That seems silly. (You can see on the video that a bit of a wall can be seen. You would have had to have been inside his chambers before to be able to know what it was.)
There are significant judicial misconduct issues in every state. Why waste time on something like this?
Based on what I’ve seen, I am inclined to think the guy is entitled to have a life.
